Apple's own demo video just revealed camera AirPods ๐ŸŽฅ

MacRumors found a finished, voiced-over tutorial buried in the macOS 26.7 release candidate, showing someone wearing camera-equipped AirPods hold up a book so Visual Intelligence can read it. Siri's own voiceover says it plainly: "your world becomes savable."

This isn't a code string, it's a polished demo video, which is a far stronger signal than usual. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says these could arrive as soon as September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, likely branded AirPods Ultra rather than Pro 4, using tiny infrared cameras with an LED that lights up when active.

That same update leaked Apple's ENTIRE fall roadmap ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

The camera AirPods weren't alone. That same macOS 26.7 build referenced Apple's home hub, a second-gen HomePod mini, AirPods Pro 4, all five upcoming iPhones, an M6 MacBook Pro, new iMacs, and an OLED iPad mini, basically Apple's whole 2026-27 product calendar sitting in one release candidate.

Per Gurman, the September event covers the iPhone 18 Pro duo, the foldable, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, and a home hub preview, with Macs and iPad mini likely following at a second event in October or November.

Tim Cook's parting wish: "call me decent" ๐Ÿฅบ

With two weeks left as CEO, Tim Cook told CBS News he won't define his own legacy: "your legacy is described by others, not yourself... I hope that people say I was a good and decent man." He said it while opening Apple's new Houston manufacturing center.

He could have led with numbers instead: Apple's market value grew from $350 billion to $4 trillion on his watch, revenue from $108B to $416B+. He chose character over the stats. John Ternus becomes CEO on September 1.

ChatGPT can now read and send your Messages on Mac ๐Ÿ’ฌ

OpenAI's new Apple Messages plugin lets ChatGPT Work and Codex search your iMessage, SMS, and RCS chats, draft replies, and send messages, all through the Mac desktop app. Think "reply to Sarah with a few times I'm free next week" as an actual prompt.

The catch worth knowing: it requires Apple silicon (no Intel Macs) and explicit macOS permissions. By default ChatGPT asks you to approve every message before sending, but you can turn that off per chat, which OpenAI itself warns removes your final review.

"Made With AI" labels are coming to Apple Music ๐ŸŽต

Apple told creators its AI Transparency Tags will become visible "Made With AI" labels later this year, covering the recording, lyrics, artwork, and music video. What was optional in March is now mandatory whenever AI creates a material portion of a release.

The reason for the shift: Apple Music exec Oliver Schusser says more than a third of monthly uploads are now fully AI-generated, though they account for under 0.5% of actual listening. Spotify and Deezer are handling the same flood with their own labeling systems.
