Hey Geeks ๐Ÿ‘‹

The foldable leaked again, Apple's whole iPhone 18 roadmap slipped out in its own code, and Apple Pay might finally reach India. Let's get into it. ๐Ÿ‘‡

In this issue, you'll find:

  • Foldable iPhone Ultra screen protectors leak ๐Ÿ“ฒ
  • Apple warns spyware targets in 110 countries ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  • Apple Pay may launch in India this October ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
  • All 6 iPhone 18 models leak in iOS 27 code ๐Ÿ“ฑโ€‹
  • Apple may pay publishers each time Siri cites them ๐Ÿ“ฐโ€‹

The foldable iPhone leaked again, this time its screen ๐Ÿ“ฒ

Leaker Ice Universe posted screen protectors for the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra, showing square corners on the hinge side and rounded on the other. Before you panic: the display underneath is still a normal symmetrical rounded rectangle, the protector just covers the whole glass front, hence the mismatched corners.

The more telling detail is a punch-hole selfie camera in the top-right corner instead of Apple's usual center spot, which fits reports the foldable drops Face ID for a Touch ID side button. Rumors point to a 5.5-inch cover screen, a 7.8-inch inner display, a September reveal, and a $2,299 to $2,499 price.

Apple warned spyware targets in 110 countries ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Apple sent a fresh wave of mercenary spyware threat notifications to users across 110 countries, one of its widest rounds since 2021. New this time: the alert now appears right on your Lock Screen and in Settings, not just buried in an email, so it's much harder to miss.

Don't worry, this almost certainly isn't about you. Mercenary spyware like Pegasus costs millions to deploy and targets journalists, activists, and diplomats specifically. But the article's advice is solid for everyone: keep iOS updated, enable two-factor auth, turn on Stolen Device Protection, and stick to the App Store.

Apple Pay may finally reach India this October ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Nearly a decade after first hinting at it, Apple could launch Apple Pay in India by late September or October, per Business Standard. You'd add Visa and Mastercard cards to Apple Wallet and tap to pay via iPhone or Apple Watch at NFC terminals.

The big catch: no UPI support at launch, since that needs NPCI approval and a sponsor bank. That makes it a premium-credit-card play at first rather than a mass-market UPI rival. Apple's reportedly still negotiating interchange fees with Indian banks too.

All 6 iPhone 18 models just leaked, in Apple's own code ๐Ÿ“ฑ

iOS 27 beta 5 quietly references six unreleased iPhones in its battery code, believed to be the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, foldable Ultra, iPhone 18, 18e, and iPhone Air 2. It's the first time Apple's full rumored lineup has appeared together in a beta.

Crucially, it backs the split-launch reports: the two Pros and the foldable arrive this September, while the standard iPhone 18, 18e, and Air 2 slip to early 2027. So if you're waiting on a cheaper iPhone 18, you've got about six extra months to wait.

Apple may pay publishers every time Siri cites them ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Apple is reportedly negotiating multiyear deals to pay news publishers each time the new Siri AI uses their content, with a possible nine-figure budget, per the WSJ. It's a pay-per-use royalty model rather than the flat annual fee most AI licensing deals use.

The why: Apple got burned in 2024 when Apple Intelligence rewrote headlines into things publishers never said (including a false BBC alert). Licensed live reporting would let the revamped Siri, arriving this fall in iOS 27, answer "what happened today" with named sources and fewer errors.
