Apple's Foldable iPad Coming in 2028

Exciting news for Apple fans: According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release its first foldable iPad in 2028. This device is expected to unfold into something similar to two iPad Pros side-by-side, offering a massive 20-inch display.
Here are the key details:

  • Foldable Design: Apple has reportedly focused on eliminating the crease, which has been a challenge for other foldable devices. Though prototypes still show a nearly invisible crease, the design aims to offer a sleek, uninterrupted piece of glass when unfolded.
  • Bigger, Not Pocket-Sized: Unlike smaller foldables, Apple seems to be prioritizing larger, more portable screens — perfect for your backpack, not your pocket. The goal is a premium device that combines the portability of a tablet with the power of a larger screen.
  • MacOS Apps on iPadOS: While this won’t be a full iPad-Mac hybrid, thanks to advancements in iPadOS, macOS apps may be available on the foldable iPad by 2028. This could open up exciting possibilities, especially for professionals who want a device that bridges the gap between tablet and laptop.
  • Foldable iPhone? Apple is also exploring the possibility of a foldable iPhone, but we don’t expect it until 2026.

The foldable iPad is shaping up to be a high-end, game-changing device, and it’s exciting to think about what this could mean for the future of the Apple ecosystem.

Apple Finally Redesigning Magic Mouse

In the latest edition of Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, we got an exciting glimpse into Apple's plans for a fully redesigned Magic Mouse. While the company just updated the current model with a USB-C charging port, it appears a more comprehensive redesign is on the way, aimed at resolving some of the biggest complaints about the device.
Key Issues Apple is Tackling:

  • Ergonomics: The Magic Mouse has been frequently criticized for its uncomfortable design, especially during extended use. Apple is reportedly focusing on making the mouse more ergonomic, ensuring it’s more comfortable for everyday use.
  • Charge Port Placement: One of the most inconvenient aspects of the current Magic Mouse is its charging port, which is located on the bottom of the mouse. This forces users to flip it over to charge, making it impossible to use the mouse while it’s plugged in. Apple is looking to redesign the mouse so it can be used while charging — a long-awaited improvement.

According to Gurman, Apple is aiming to create a product that "better fits the modern era," addressing these issues while still maintaining the sleek, minimalist design that the Magic Mouse is known for.

While this redesign may still be a little ways off, it’s promising to see Apple tackling these longstanding concerns with a fresh approach.
