💻 2026: OLED MacBook Pro Gets a Notch-Free Redesign!

Apple is planning some major changes for the MacBook Pro's display in the coming years. According to a new report from research firm Omdia, Apple will move from mini-LED to OLED displays as early as 2026, and the shift will bring several exciting updates.​

1. OLED Display Transition​
   Starting in 2026, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will feature OLED displays. This change will bring improved color accuracy, better contrast, and more vibrant visuals, similar to what we’ve seen on the latest iPad Pro.

2. Goodbye Notch, Hello Hole-Punch​
   Apple will ditch the current notch cutout and replace it with a hole-punch cutout for the webcam. This design change will increase the usable screen area and prevent the notch from interfering with the macOS menu bar, improving the overall display experience.

3. Potential Dynamic Island for Mac?​
   There’s speculation that the new hole-punch cutout could feature a Dynamic Island, a design element introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro, adding interactivity to the MacBook Pro’s webcam area.

⌚️ Apple Watch Set to Upgrade from LTE to 5G

Apple Watch has supported LTE since the Series 3 in 2017, but it's remained stuck on 4G while the rest of the smartphone market has embraced 5G. That’s about to change, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Apple is reportedly planning to switch its modem supplier and bring 5G to the Apple Watch for the first time. This upgrade will involve replacing Intel's modems with new 5G modems from MediaTek, enabling support for 5G RedCap, a lower-tier 5G service designed for wearables and devices that don’t need fast data speeds.

This move will align Apple Watch with the current 5G trend in smartphones and is expected to debut with the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 model. The shift to 5G, combined with an exciting satellite feature in the works, promises to make the Apple Watch even more powerful and connected than ever before.
