Hey Geeks! Dhvanesh here, your friendly neighborhood Apple enthusiast and editor-in-chief of iGeeksBlog+.

Apple fans, rejoice! WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) is back, and this year it's happening on June 10th. While it's a developer-focused event, it always gives us a glimpse of the exciting new things Apple has in store for its software and hardware.

This year, the rumors are swirling about a massive update to iOS 18, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. Think smarter apps, improved messaging, and, who knows, maybe even a new AI partner for Apple. We'll also be getting updates to iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, so there's something for everyone (even Apple Watch users, who might see some Siri improvements!).

On the hardware front, new Macs seem like a safe bet. Maybe a sleek new Mac mini or a powerhouse Mac Pro with the M3 Ultra chip? We'll have to wait and see!

Of course, these are just the rumors flying around the Apple-sphere. We'll know for sure what Apple has planned when they take the stage at WWDC. Until then, stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to be wowed!

📲 3 Apps You Should Download This Week

1️⃣ Countdown - Pretty Progress link

  • When’s your final exam? How far away is the trip you’ve saved up for all year? Let Pretty Progress track all of your most important events, deadlines, and projects in beautiful, customizable progress bars for your Home Screen.
  • You may love how simple everything is. Set the start and end date for birthdays, anniversaries, meetings, or whatever’s coming up on your calendar. Pretty Progress will visualise everything in progress bars, showing either the time left or the percentage completed. Arrange them as widgets on your Home Screen so you can quickly see what’s upcoming or how close you are to achieving something.
  • A quick tip is to make your Pretty Progress widgets your own by mixing and matching colour swatches and sizes. With unlocked pro functionality, you’ll be able to get creative with retro-styled ’90s operating system progress bars.

2️⃣ The Howl link

  • The Howl haunts the lands, turning anyone who hears it into a wolf-like beast that goes on to spread this terrifying plague even further. Turn-based puzzler Howl puts you in the heart of the story as the deaf heroine who is protected from this monstrosity. Find a cure to save others before it’s too late.
  • What you may love is Howl’s beautiful hand-painted illustrations are reminiscent of classic fairy tales, but don’t admire the view for long. The game’s mix of turn-based tactics and puzzle elements challenge you to pass levels as efficiently as possible, all while defeating werewolves and saving villagers before they turn.
  • Quick tip for you is think like a wolf! When Howl confronts you with your first round of enemies, there won’t be time to decide tactics on the hop. Plan the moves, attacks and skills you’ll deploy in advance – as soon as you start a round the game runs through your planned steps, alternating with the monsters.

3️⃣ Letterboxd link

  • Anyone else spend hours trawling through all the streaming platforms looking for that must-watch film? Letterboxd takes the hassle out of deciding what to watch next with reviews and curated lists from film aficionados. You can also use the app to keep track of the movies you’ve already watched.
  • You may love finding fellow film buffs. Connect with friends’ accounts to see what they’ve been watching and read their reviews. Are you not keen on your mates’ movie choices? Scan the Reviews tab to find a member with equally eclectic tastes. And don’t forget to follow them for future recommendations.
  • A quick tip for you is that Letterboxd is free to use but has nifty member benefits. With a Pro or Patron subscription, you can filter by the streaming platforms you’re currently subscribed to and receive notifications when films from your watchlist arrive on those services.
