Hey Geeks! Dhvanesh here, your friendly neighborhood Apple enthusiast and editor-in-chief of iGeeksBlog+.

Apple's first event of the year kicks off tomorrow, May 7th at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. Buckle up, because according to Mark Gurman, it's a quick one – clocking in at around 35 minutes.

What can you expect? Here's the rumor mill churning:

  • New iPad Pro and iPad Air models: Think M chips (M4 for Pro, M2 for Air), stunning OLED displays (for Pro),and a size increase for the Air (hello, 12.9-inch!).
  • Updated Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard: The Pencil might get a squeeze gesture with haptic feedback, and the Magic Keyboard could sport a sleek aluminum design and a bigger trackpad.

This event is a tasty appetiser before the main course – Apple's WWDC in June.

💡 3 Things To Know This Week

🔥 Apple to Debut 20.3-Inch Hybrid by 2025, and Foldable iPhone by 2026 link

  • The report, from Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, says that Apple will begin mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device in late 2025, followed by a foldable iPhone in late 2026.
  • If rumour is to be believed, Apple has "accelerated" its work on foldable devices. The report says that there is “increasing visibility” of Apple’s foldable devices based on supply chain checks.
  • Apple's foldable would represent a "new line-up for Apple" targeting the "ultra- high-end market." Apple is reportedly exploring two screen sizes for a foldable iPhone: 7.9-inches and 8.3-inches.

💬 Snapchat adds editable chats, emoji reactions, new AI features link

  • Snapchat continues to innovate with AI-powered Lenses. The 90s AI Lens has already generated nearly 40 million Snaps in just four days. These features highlight Snapchat's dedication to enhancing user experience and fostering connections.

🤖 Safari to get an AI boost in iOS 18, macOS 15 with smarter search, web page 'eraser' link

  • Apple is enhancing Safari in iOS 18 and macOS 15 with AI features like Intelligent Search and Web Eraser. The Intelligent Search feature uses on-device AI to summarize web pages.
  • A Web Eraser that gives users the option to remove parts of a web page. This includes ads, text, and images. Safari will remember the parts that have been removed when the page is closed, and if the page is revisited, Safari alerts the user that the page has been modified.
  • A new page controls menu that appears in the address bar. This menu essentially collects user controls that are spread throughout Safari (text size, zoom, Reader mode, Privacy Report, and more).
  • An AI enhancement to Visual Lookup that gives users product information. This feature could also be implemented system-wide, not just in Safari.

📲 3 Apps You Should Download This Week

1️⃣ Two Dots: Brain Puzzle Games link

  • Make dot-to-dot connections. The game mechanics in Two Dots make for endless possibilities, but with a limited number of moves, strategic planning is essential. Tracing a line between dots of the same colour will make them disappear, but you’ll also need to complete a set of objectives to proceed to the next level.
  • What you may love is stringing together dots – horizontally and vertically – to progress through the puzzles and reveal the adventure backstory. Building up win streaks will reward you with extra boosters, and that’s great news because power-ups make it easier to clear levels before you run out of moves.
  • Quick tip for you is look out for squares of matching dots. Tracing all four corners clears entire colours from the board, which often makes it the most efficient way to a complete level.

2️⃣ Gentler Streak Workout Tracker link

  • Should you exercise or hit the couch today? Gentler Streakhas the answer. The fitness-habit app analyses your recent activity in the context of heart rate, sports type, age and other factors, and suggests the optimal time, type, duration and intensity for your next workout, so you don’t overextend yourself and risk fatigue or injury.
  • What you may love is how the app makes data easily understandable. You don’t have to analyse any activity dashboards to work on your fitness goals. Gentler Streakaims to understand the state of your body on your behalf and recommends when and how to get active again. To learn more about how training affects your body, the app offers mini courses with workout and recovery guidance, including special sessions on heart rate, training in winter, nutrition, exercising during menstruation, and more.
  • Quick tip for you is check out the monthly and yearly activity recaps spiced with curious fun facts about your physical activity and burnt energy.

3️⃣ Creatures of the Deep link

  • Reel in the ocean’s mysterious bounty in Creatures of the Deep. Take the helm of a small vessel and navigate idyllic waters, casting your fishing line to see what might bite. As in real-life, fishing in this game requires patience, so chill out, enjoy being on the water and master your technique.
  • What you may love: is completing challenges and chatting with other seafarers is great, clearing up the plastic bags, bottles and other rubbish in the ocean is even better. You can then exchange your wares for coins, investing profits in new fishing rods, upgrades for your boat or temporary luck.
  • Quick tip for you: Expand your collection of unique aquatic creatures by adopting multiple techniques – some species favour the proactive angler, while others reward those who wait. As your fishing prowess improves, you can make your name by catching one of the elusive sea monsters lurking in the depths.
