Hey Geeks! Dhvanesh here, your friendly neighborhood Apple enthusiast and editor-in-chief of iGeeksBlog+.

The recent launch of the new iPads has been met with significant excitement in the technology space. These latest models introduce several progressive upgrades, such as:

  • The M4 chip in the iPad Pro,
  • The M2 chip in the iPad Air, and
  • The Apple Pencil Pro with new gestures.

A standout feature of the new iPad Pro is the Tandem OLED Display with an optional nano-textured glass. This promises exceptional vivid visuals even in bright sunlight, although the option of nano-textured glass is limited to the 1 TB and 2 TB variants. The shift of cameras and speakers to landscape mode enhances the overall multimedia experience, meeting expectations for such an essential feature on iPads.

The M4 chip's impressive 50% speed increase over the M2 positions it as a powerhouse for AI tasks. Meanwhile, the iPad Air is heavier than the iPad Pro! When I see the word Air, I always see two specifications: thin and Light. The 11-inch Air weighs 1.02 pounds, while the 11-inch Pro’s 0.98 pounds. The 13-inch Air weighs 1.36 pounds, compared to the 13-inch Pro's 1.28 pounds. Not just the weight, but iPad Pro sizes are also thinner.

📲 3 Apps You Should Download This Week

1️⃣ Alien: Isolation link

  • The Ripley clan could do with a break, couldn’t they? Fifteen years after Ellen Ripley was stuck on a spaceship with a xenomorph in Alien, her daughter Amanda finds herself in a similar pickle in the survival horror game Alien: Isolation. This super-deluxe App Store edition of the PC and console classic comes with all seven servings of DLC that followed its original release—so it’s quite a package.
  • You may love the setting and atmosphere onboard the troubled spaceport Sevastopol. It’s all beautifully realised, with countless little details inspired by the original film. Crawling through vents, eking out the last of your torch’s batteries, and crafting makeshift weapons while you find a way out is tense, rewarding, and unpredictable.
  • A quick tip is that this one is best played with headphones. Often, you’ll hear the alien approaching before you see it, so listen carefully and always take a mental note of hiding spots as you explore—you never know when you might need to take refuge.

2️⃣ what3words: Navigation & Maps link

  • What3words has a unique three-word combination for every three-metre square on Earth. These combos enable friends or emergency services to locate your exact position when traditional addresses are unavailable or unsuitable. So even if you’re on a solitary bench in a vast park or on a remote roadside in your conked-out car, you can be found.
  • What you may love is that the app isn’t just great in emergencies—photo mode carries a certain romance. Upload an image of an important moment, and What3words immortalises which of the planet’s 57 trillion squares it was taken in by adding a customisable sticker of the address. The app also works offline, is compatible with other navigation apps, and supports voice entry.
  • A quick tip: If you’d rather have a parcel stashed in the shed than in plain sight on the doorstep, many delivery companies now accept What3words addresses.

3️⃣ Open: Breathwork + Meditation link

  • This design-forward mindfulness studio taps a range of modalities to help you find calm, build rituals, and grow in your self-care practices.
  • You may love that the app surfaces a different meditation, breath work, movement, or sound class each day. One of our favorites was “Espresso Shot,” which provides a quick boost. But don’t be afraid to explore on your own. That’s how we stumbled upon the Breathe Mixtapes, a dynamic mindful moment that pairs music with guided breath work.
  • A quick tip for you is the app’s live-streamed meditation and movement classes are a great way to feel connected to a community. Can’t make them work for your schedule? There’s an archive of previously aired classes you can watch on your own time.
